Case Study: Gamification as a strategy for vocabulary learning in university students

Research have shown that gamification can a great and positive impact in students’ motivation engagement with their learning. Since Covid-19 social distance happened, teachers needed to adapt create the conditions for students continue learning, boost interest virtual environment. As result, use of online games seemed be way grab attention increase level participation class while learning new vocabulary. Some authors commented at least 10 17 encounters might necessary word meaning recalled. Games used as tool vocabulary second language allow repetition through failure taking away shyness or shame try it again. The aim this survey was know perception on effectiveness using when English area Technical University Babahoyo. results showed most are willing games. Even though some them found difficult based content, they realized helped engage class. Students were more open receiving information experimenting progress persisted receive feedback repeatedly.
